The Role:
As the Engineering Manager, you will lead by example, demonstrating ownership, accountability, effective decision making and setting the tone for the company culture. You will have responsibility for the success of the Maintenance Department, with the Maintenance Manager as your direct report. Additionally, you will have site management responsibilities and will play a pivotal in leading the site management team.
Duties include:
Lead and develop the maintenance and engineering team, focusing activity on strategic and business unit goals to develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead the Craigavon site operational management team and liaise with the European Supply Chain team.
Ensure the development and use of leading-edge technologies through quality engineering and innovation to improve the efficiency of plant and equipment.
Ensure that plant and facilities are maintained to the highest standards to continually improve efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Regularly review engineering practices, procedures and systems using Maintenance software to effectively control stock levels and material usage, steering on maintenance budgets.
In conjunction with Operations, develop the machinery and the product to maximise technological advancements.
Manage all CEA projects including investigation, setting specifications, obtaining quotations, installation, and commissioning to enhance current operating capability.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to optimise engineering inventory costs.
Implement and control the operation of Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards to remain compliant with legislation and internal procedures including ISO 9001 & 14001.
Develop and implement ideas, particularly around sustainability and waste, to move the organisation towards our Climate Take Back mission.
Provide technical support and liaison with New Product Design & Development to ensure that there is a practical application for Design requirements.
Provide support to manufacturing management by effectively diagnosing and resolving operational issues with manufacturing equipment keeping downtime to a minimum.
The Person:
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will come from a similar background and will be looking for the next challenge in their career. Self-starting and motivated, applicants will also need to satisfy the following:
Educated to Engineering degree/diploma level or equivalent.
Proven experience of successfully leading teams typically gained in an Operational environment.
Flexible in approach and takes ownership of decisions.
Experience of leading successful engineering / continuous improvement projects
An understanding of mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Experience in fault finding and extensive knowledge of mechanics.
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Experience of using Microsoft Project
Basic electrical aptitude
