A Senior Engineering Manager with a background in hands-on Python/Java coding and Financial Services (Buy or Sell-Side) is sought after by a global Tier 1 Investment Manager to take ownership of their engineering function for Investment Data.This function is comprised of several teams who are responsible for a number of core platforms used by Investment teams globally covering market & reference data, indexing, ESG and their IBOR, with regular interaction with the Front Office (Portfolio Managers, Traders, Analysts etc.) In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day line management of two Engineering Managers and a number of Technical Leads, working in a collaborative manner to set and drive IT Strategy. This will cover product engineering, implementation & delivery, software development standards & best practises as well as architecture, owning overall project budgeting and delivery across the teams.In addition to this, you will also regularly engage with wider technical teams and stakeholders on a global scale, ensuring alignment with group policy, initiatives/roadmaps and standards.
To be successful you will require:Project and people/line management skills, including roadmapping, delivery, budgeting, 121s, stakeholder management.A hands-on coding background in either Python or Java (do not need to be hands-on currently but still able to engage and discuss at a technical level)Experience developing and deploying to public cloud, ideally AWS.In-depth knowledge of modern development best practises (Agile mindset, Microservices Architecture, DevOps)A career background in Financial Services, either Investment Banking or Investment Management If you are a Senior Engineering Manager looking for your next opportunity within Finance and would be keen to work for a world-leading Investment Manager, please do apply!
