RTL Group are currently recruiting a senior engineer to work on a marine civils project in�Worthing!



Senior Engineering Duties:



Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and construction methodologies for marine civil engineering projects.



Coordinate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure alignment of engineering activities with project objectives and timelines.



Participate in pre-construction meetings and site inspections to review project requirements and address any technical issues.



Oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site, including earthworks, dredging, piling, and marine structural installations.



Supervise subcontractors, equipment operators, and laborers to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.



Monitor site progress, productivity, and quality to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to project schedules.



Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.



Document and report non-conformances, defects, and corrective actions to maintain project quality and safety standards.



Implement quality management plans and procedures to minimize rework and ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.



Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams on-site to resolve technical challenges and ensure construction activities proceed as planned.



Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to clarify requirements and address discrepancies.



Collaborate with design engineers and consultants to develop solutions to unforeseen site conditions or design modifications.



Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to marine civil engineering projects.



Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among site personnel.



Identify and report HSE hazards, risks, and incidents to ensure a safe working environment for all project stakeholders.



Manage the procurement, delivery, and inventory control of materials, equipment, and supplies required for construction activities.



Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of materials in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.



Coordinate with procurement teams and suppliers to resolve issues related to material quality, availability, and delivery schedules.



Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and as-built drawings.



Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project managers and stakeholders to communicate project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.



Document construction delays, variations, and change orders to support claims management and dispute resolution processes.



Liaise with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and local communities, to address concerns and ensure project objectives are met.



Communicate effectively with project teams and subcontractors to provide updates on site activities, schedules, and resource requirements.



Foster positive relationships with stakeholders through open communication, responsiveness, and professionalism.



Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in marine civil engineering and construction management.



Participate in training programs, seminars, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
