Job Title: Senior Engineer - Structural Engineering (Shock and Dynamics)Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth, Frimley, Manchester or Filton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: From £39,000 - depending on skills and experienceWhat you'll be doing: Supporting Principal Engineers with the setting of sub-system requirements to meet whole boat naval shock requirementsSupporting management of verification, validation (V&V) and qualification evidence to ensure sub-systems meet shock requirementsDeveloping design justification documentationSupporting and undertaking assessments of structures and equipment subjected to naval shock load casesProviding design guidance at design reviews with respect to naval shock load casesUndertaking peer review checking activitiesSupporting physical shock test activitiesYour skills and experiences:Mechanical Engineering Degree (or STEM degree)Knowledge of undertaking structural design calculations (i.e. bolted joints / bending moment / shear stress)Understanding of material strength properties and limits (elastic and plastic properties)Benefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The position will give you a great satisfaction of being a part of the team, playing a significant role in every element of submarine design.As a Senior Engineer within the Shock and Dynamics department, you will support Principal Engineers with ensuring structures and equipment are verified against naval shock requirements. You will support requirements for sub systems to ensure overall boat requirements are met.
