DNV is growing our Strategy Team within the Energy Systems’ group and is looking to add a Senior Energy Strategy Consultant to support grid modernization and system decarbonization efforts. This role will be responsible for supporting and leading projects and business development efforts on strategic issues in the energy transition including grid modernization, decarbonization, non-wires alternatives, non-pipeline alternatives, distribution planning, distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, and evolving utility economics and energy market dynamics.
This position can be located in our Medford, MA; North Andover, MA; Portland, ME; Middletown, CT; New York, NY offices. Other DNV continental U.S. offices may also be considered. What You’ll Do:
Support project-based teams in the delivery of strategic research studies and analyses by serving as a technical lead, project manager or subject matter expert. This can include client interaction, development of proposals or work plans, leadership of project teams or tasks, and preparation of deliverables and presentation of results. Provide insights and lead and/or support research and analysis on strategic energy transition projects including resource adoption potential and forecasting analyses, demand flexibility, distribution system planning, benefit-cost analyses, non-wire alternative and non-pipeline alternative planning studies and reviews. Create resources and tools for grid modernization and gas decarbonization strategies, and help evolve modeling techniques and design. Collaborate with DNV staff on other teams in North America and globally (Digitalization & Analytics, Design & Evaluation, and Engineering & Technology, Power System Advisory, Storage and Grid Edge, and Renewables Advisory) to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation and develop creative approaches to customer problems. Interpret customers’ problems to be solved and convert into value-added opportunities. Operate with a teamwork mentality that leads to building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, providing guidance to researchers and consultants and collaborating with other project managers and team members to share knowledge and best practices

The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this role is $115,000 - $160,000What is RequiredBachelor’s degree with emphasis in a relevant discipline (Such as Business, Statistics, Economics, Environmental and Energy Policy, Engineering)Minimum 7 years of work experience in data analysis, engineering, or market research Minimum 5 years of work experience in the energy industry Demonstrated curiosity and desire to continue learning and evolving with the market.
