Salary: £50,000 - £58,000 (Grade 6)

Hours: 37.5 per week.
Location: Hybrid - Ideally 2 days per week at our Leicester HQ (we can be flexible on this).
An opportunity to work with some of the world’s most iconic brands, The Consultus International Group is looking to appoint a Senior Energy Market Risk Manager to develop and deliver world-class market risk management and strategic energy trading solutions to a global portfolio of major (Tier 1) clients. You will help lead a department responsible for 100s £millions worth of energy trading every year across the globe.
As the Senior Energy Market Risk Manager, you will generate and deliver client specific hedging strategies to high intensity energy consumers with complex needs. You will liaise with the Consultant team to schedule and lead energy market risk-related client meetings and risk workshops, whilst working with the wider team to ensure that contracted risk service needs are met and agreed risk strategies are complied with.
Regularly reviewing the suitability of energy market risk strategies, you will monitor daily market positions, engaging with clients and sending out trading instructions via ETRM where required. A full job description is available on request.
What you need
Well suited to someone with proven experience in a senior procurement advisor / consultant or risk management / trading role within the utilities / energy market, the Senior Energy Market Risk Manager will be a pro-active and engaging communicator; they will be able to present and talk confidently on a broad range of areas, including: commodity hedging strategy (electricity and gas), trading, market drivers, budgeting, legislative risk and PPAs. You will be able to clearly communicate complex information, making it easy to understand for a wide range of stakeholders. It is essential that you have in-depth knowledge of flexible energy contracts.
The role requires you to be an excellent relationship builder, who takes a collaborative approach when working with both clients and your peers.
Although not ostensibly a commercial role, the Senior Energy Market Risk Manager will be mindful of the businesses cost-to-serve when allocating resource and will identify complex product cross-selling opportunities, working with the wider business to support the sales process. You will therefore possess good commercial acumen, a keen eye for detail and take a creative approach to problem solving.

The interview process
The interview process is anticipated to consist of 2 stages:
Competency-based interview – video or face-to-facePresentation interview – in-person (topic TBC – expected to be delivery of a market update)
Another final interview may be required.
