The role holder will support a period of change and transformation at SJP supporting senior leadership to deliver large and complex organisational change projects that support the Group’s People Strategy. This role requires a commercial, highly experienced organisational change professional with preferably relevant experience within FS or other regulated environment. (TUPE experience preferred). This person will play a critical role in shaping plans for transformation and provide specialist employee relations advice and guidance to business leaders and colleagues. This person could work remotely most of the time but will need to be available for key meetings in Cirencester/London offices.
What you’ll be doing:
Support Strategic People Partner – Transformation and Group Chief People Officer to propose plans and support the delivery of large-scale, complex change programs, providing specialist employee relations advice and guidance in all aspects of organizational change.
Provide expert employee relations advice to senior managers/leadership teams working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
Work as part of an extended Employee Relations team, bringing experience and knowledge to the team.
Advise/lead escalated and complex investigations, performance matters, grievances, conduct issues, appeals and restructuring, supporting leaders and people team colleagues throughout these processes and transformation.
Support the development of an effective employee information, consultation and engagement forum.
Work with People team and L&D colleagues to improve the ER capability of leaders and workplace representatives through training, coaching, partnership and the development of appropriate tools and processes.
Identify and lead the implementation of appropriate reporting mechanisms for employee relations matters, both informal and formal.
Use data to inform strategic decision making and identify/lead opportunities to drive the continuous improvement of ER processes and policies.
Principally focus on ER issues within the UK, but at times support leaders and People Partners in other EMEA locations including Ireland, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Who we’re looking for:
Extensive knowledge/experience of complex employee relations matters together with demonstrable change and business transformation experience.
Solid understanding of organisational culture and knowledgeable in UK employment law.
Good understanding of the SJP distribution model and Partnership, and how different functions contribute to the success of the business.
Knowledge of FS sector trends/issues advantageous.
Excellent analytical skills and a solution orientated approach to problem solving.
Able to navigate legal, cultural and business risks when handling complex people issues.
Credible ER specialist with gravitas, track record and capability.
Comfortable working with all leadership levels especially C-Suite leaders.
Track record of successfully coaching and developing senior managers on people matters.
Skilled influencer – confident and articulate communicator.
Demonstrate high level of confidentiality and high levels of integrity.
Resilient and able to bounce back from setbacks.
Special Requirements:
Some national travel (most likely between Cirencester, London, Bristol etc.), with occasional overnight stays. Some flexibility around working hours expected from time to time.
