Senior Electronics Design Engineer

IK Trax is seeing a dynamic and experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join our innovative Research and Development team at our Head Office in Aberdeen, UK. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge electronics and firmware for new and existing products, as well as bespoke customer-specific applications.Key Responsibilities //Design new products from concept to in-field introduction, with an emphasis on simplicity, reliability and manufacturabilityDevelop circuit schematics, simulations and PCB layoutsMicrocontroller and DSP programmingProvide engineering support for the existing product rangeObtain ATEX/IECEX/UXEx accreditation of relevant productsAssess technical queries and provide engineering solutions across a diverse product portfolioParticipate in the company’s Innovation Ideas capture and Ideation processCollaborate with internal departments to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instancesCreate and maintain engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, test plans, reports and manualsEnsure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budgetTake ownership and accountability of tasks, reporting progress to the managerDocument and report any issues, recommending improvements to existing productsComply with company and departmental QA & HSE procedures and processesSkills & Experience //Analog electronics design and development experienceDigital Signal Processing design and development experienceExtensive experience with high-level development languages, preferably C++ and CMicrocontroller C and assembly programmingOperating systems: WindowsUnderstanding of sensors, data gathering and distribution of data to various sourcesWireless comms (Bluetooth, LoRaWAN, IoT, LTE)Wired comms (Ethernet, USB, RS485, MODBUS, HARD, I2C)Subsea or Pipeline electronic systems development (advantageous)Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailCapability and confidence to challenge the normAnalytical and logical problem-solving skillsAbility to work well as part of a team and autonomouslyTechnical, practical and scientific knowledge and abilityQualifications //Electronic/Electrical engineering degree or equivalent industry experience10+ years of professional experience in electronics and firmware developmentExperience in Research & Development environment (desirable.)Provide engineering support for the existing product rangeBenefits //28 Days Holiday, increasing with years of serviceHybrid Working35 Hour WeekAbility to accrue flexitimeIf you are a passionate and experienced Engineer, looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology, we invite you to apply.
