About the Role
You will be senior member of engineering function, bringing core electrical design expertise to the team. There will be significant room for upward mobilty as the company grows, and you will be entering the company as the most senior electrical engineer.
Responsibilities
Lead and carry out the electrical design and development of advanced battery systems, including cell selection, LV/HV harness, control systems, and electrical architecture.
Collaborate with a cross-functional teams to develop our internally designed battery architecture and take it into a number of automotive vehicle applications.
Develop safety and quality systems, ensuring compliance with the latest standards, including ownership of the DFMEA from an electrical perspective.
Own the battery management system, carrying out make-or-buy analysis, and working with partners and internal teams on battery performance algorithms.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging battery technologies, and advancements in battery materials and chemistry.
Provides technical support to internal stakeholders. Reports to the Project staff and to the Client whenever required.
Lead and contribute to project teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Communicate progress and results to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of design specifications, test results, and project progress.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and patent applications as necessary.
Provides technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work. Reports to the Project staff and to the Client whenever required.
Hands on electrical engineering and technical leadership.
Your Experience
Electrical Engineering Degree or similar.
Proven experience in battery system design, testing, and validation.
Proficiency in battery chemistry, electrical modelling, and simulation tools.
Strong knowledge of battery safety standards, such as UN/DOT, IEC, and UL standards.
Experience with battery management systems and software.
Familiarity with appropriate communications protocols.
Familiarity with industry trends and the ability to identify innovative solutions.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Knowledge of the battery industry and the ability to apply this in hands on engineering and technical leadership.
Valid UK driving licence for business travel.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required by the role.
