Salary: �32,000 - �39,000

Location: Northumberland

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Senior Ecologist to join a well-established Ecological Consultancy in Northumberland. With over two decades of experience, the consultancy collaborates with a diverse client base across the nation. They specialise in ecological assessments, habitat management, and conservation planning.

As a Senior Ecologist, you'll engage in a mix of fieldwork and desk-based work. Your responsibilities will include conducting various surveys, such as Phase 1, BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) Assessments, PEA (Preliminary Ecological Appraisals), and ECiAs. Additionally, you'll manage your own projects and lead surveys as required. In addition to consulting on technical projects, you will also be responsible for some mentoring and development of junior Ecologists.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Hold one or more protected species licences
• Be confident at technical project management
• Strong botanical knowledge
• Experience with GIS (ideally QGIS) and excellent IT skills
• CIEEM (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management) Associate or Full Membership
• Effective client communication and project management abilities
• Collaborative team player with ambition and drive
• Interest in tree climbing (advantageous but not essential)
• Hold a valid full driving licence
