This role sits within our Cavendish Nuclear business, from decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience across our projects. Promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teamsAssist in effective management of the customer, through interfacing with customers and supply chain on design issues and assist with procurement specificationsEnsure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.Contribute to Product Safety Assessment processProvide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders at a detailed levelCarry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design of improvementsContribute to process improvement within the operational and/or design lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisationApply engineering domain knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned task and projectProduce, review, verify outputs including: calculations, analyses, technical reports, technical specifications and method statementsEnsure appropriate review, verification and approval is undertaken on work performedPlan, deliver and monitor assigned tasks and projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to time, quality and costProvide support to the Project Manager for the planning, control and delivery of tasks and projectsMake engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authorityAct as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised to do so. The role operates on a 37-hour work week and includes hybrid and flexible working.
