Nouscom is a private clinical stage immuno-oncology company developing next-generation, off-the-shelf and personalized cancer vaccines. Our proprietary viral vector platform has the capacity to encode for large payloads of neoantigens or other immunomodulators and is clinically demonstrated to safely and potently harness the power of the immune system. In Q1 2024 the company announced closing of heavily oversubscribed €75M / $82M Series 'C' financing, to advance the clinical development of its wholly owned programs.
We are looking for a Senior Director, Business Operations and Development.
The job
The Senior Director, Business Operations and Development will directly support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the delivery of all the company’s external operational research and clinical activities. The role will be instrumental in support interactions between potential operational partners (e.g Academics, CROs, CDMO, etc), as well as pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The role will have significant operational responsibility for end to end business development processes (encompassing scouting, structuring, negotiating, closing through to implementation.
The role will have an externally facing component representing the Company to external groups, including at partnering and networking events, and in both building and supporting an established global network to support operations and potential partnerships.
Job requirements
PhD (or other advanced business degree) with relevant scientific background gained in the biotech
and
pharmaceutical sector
Demonstrable experience in both business operations
and
business development, with significant transaction experience illustrative with an impressively varied deal sheet gained both with and within the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors
Good understanding of the drug development process, and experience working with multiple external third parties to deliver on research and clinical programmes.
Subject matter expert in the licensing/business development process. Able to integrate scientific knowledge into credible transaction models
Strong working knowledge of biotech industry, with a can-do attitude to problem solving
Strong analytical, communication skills
Able to communicate effectively at all levels from junior to senior management both internally and externally
Additional Information
Flexible working environment, with expected frequent (monthly) travel to Nouscom sites in Basel and Rome, and travel to external partner sites (largely EU based, with infrequent US travel)
The position could be UK, Switzlerland or EU based.
