Following the pilot launch of our business banking services last year, we're now looking at taking our product offering for customers to new heights. As we head into this new phase of growth, we need the right person to lead the charge.
As the Senior Director of Business Banking, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of our business banking offering. You will drive the development and delivery of innovative solutions, focusing on payments, cash management, and digital banking services for existing and new customers.
Working closely with our CEO and a broad set of stakeholders, this role requires someone who is plugged into customer needs, highly commercial, and can lead teams to great outcomes. These qualities, plus an entrepreneurial mindset, a high-velocity approach, and a passion for supporting growing businesses are key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for business banking, aligning it with the overall goals and objectives of the bank.
• Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth through effective pricing strategies, cross-selling opportunities, and the expansion of the business banking.
• Product: Focus on working with Product team on prioritisation of roadmap and future features to bring to market.
• Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to business banking operations. Implement robust risk management practices to protect the bank's interests and mitigate risks associated with payments and cash management activities.
• Team Leadership: Build, lead, coach, and empower a top-tier team, driving a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence in business banking
• Market Analysis: Keep up to date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the business banking sector, and leverage insights to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
• Partnership Management: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with FinTech's, payment processors, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance the bank's business banking offerings and capabilities.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance metrics, financial performance, and client feedback related to business banking, providing regular reports and updates to senior management.
What do you need to excel in this role?
• Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior leadership role within business banking or cash management, preferably within the UK financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of business banking products, payments systems, and digital banking trends.
• Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, managing P&L, and achieving business targets.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver results.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and risk management practices applicable to business banking operations.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Comfortable in a Founder-led, entrepreneurial environment. Knows how to prioritise across a range of requirements - can distinguish across importance and urgency
• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
