Senior Developer

Our client has developed a real-time travel app, the app launched on iOS devices in August 2020 and on Android in December 2020. The first phase included multi-modal journey planning, real-time train status, nearby bus stops and live arrivals. To-date it has achieved over 4 million downloads across both platforms, as well as ratings of 4.7 and 4.4 respectively in the Apple and Android app stores.During 2024/25 they plan to accelerate delivery of new customer functionality, including adding support for more modes, including Bicycles (shared bike service), this element will be used to ‘nudge’ customer behaviour towards the use of sustainable transport options.With this new workload in mind, we are looking to find a Senior Backend Developer to join on an initial 1-year contract, with an option for a 2nd year contract to follow.To be considered for this role you need to demonstrate proven experience in the following areas:Key knowledge and skills required:Expert in deploying and maintaining APIs with high demand and usageExpert in investigating and diagnosing production issues in high-complexity cloud-based systemsAbility to work with dev teams to provide code and/or configuration fixes for C# based back-end systems.Expert in industry standard development methodologies and toolsExperience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Azure based API's, message queues and notifications.Demonstrable experience of working on complex and large-scale, cloud-based systems and unified API’s over the past 5 yearsTechnical Skillset needed:The Senior Software Developer will have expert knowledge of defining and building integrated solutions using:C# .Net CoreCosmosDBPowerShellMicrosoft SQL ServerXMLAgile ScrumBicepMicrosoft Identity Platform.The Senior Software Developer will work with all others as necessary within the project including the Product Owners, Solution Architects and other stakeholders to establish an optimal solution which meets requirements, adheres to technical
strategy/constraints
