An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Desktop Engineer to support one of our client's, based on their site in Ipswich. The successful candidate must be well presented, a strong communicator with an excellent knowledge of End User Workplace equipment including Desktops, laptops, Printers, and mobile devices (both smart phones and tablets).This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5-hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:15.The successful candidate must be willing to undergo the client's security clearance process.As a Senior Desktop Engineer you will be:Fully site-basedAble to deal directly with clients in a friendly and highly confident mannerTroubleshooting known and unknown hardware / software issues related to desktop, laptops, workstations, peripherals, and associated accessoriesExperienced with VIP support and engagementTroubleshooting known and unknown software issues related to Windows platformsBuilding and deploying PCs, patch network points, troubleshooting printer problems, supporting standard software packages, and other general “IT” tasksProviding ‘Hands and Eyes’ support to other teamsProcessing documentation and knowledge base article managementUsing the onsite call management system to update calls and close calls to specific SLAsPerform stock control & asset management – ensuring the desktops and laptops are correctly added to the database and the status updated when applicableWhat we're looking for:Knowledge of current and past Microsoft windows operating systemsKnowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Intune etc)Experience in Windows imaging techniques (Network & Local)Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory knowledge Remote desktop support toolsDesktop/printer configurationsExcellent interpersonal & communication skillsMust be able to work independently and part of a team.Experience and technical knowledge of IT, PC’s / peripherals, and their architectureBreak fix, IMACs, Incidents, ProjectsExperience with Ticket ManagementComfortable with liaising and working alongside 3rd Parties.Display flexibility and the ability to manage your day effectivelyDesirable skills / qualifications:ITIL Foundation3 – 4 years experience supporting Windows environmentWindows certificationThis is an excellent opportunity to join us and as an employee you will gain access to a large library of training courses and accreditations to help further your skills and development.As an FDS Employee you will benefit from:Flexible benefits including, private medial and health insurance, basic cover paid by employerFree eye test vouchersCompany pension schemeIncome protection after 6 months’ service should you be off work due to serious illness23 days holiday rising by 1 day per year to max 25Option to purchase / sell additional holidayLife insuranceEmployee Assistance Programme, free confidential advice covering a range of areas including mental health and financial supportApply now for consideration!By completing the application process you agree that ES Field Delivery UK LTD (FDS) may contact you in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in connection with your application via the contact details you provided in relation to the vacancy you have applied for.
