Senior Designer

InterMoor is actively seeking to add a Senior Designer for their Team in Aberdeen on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have expertise in both 3D and 2D subsea and charting design work. This role requires a professional who can leverage their skills and experience to support the company's dynamic offshore oil and gas project and rig move campaigns. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in emerging renewable project work programs.
Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide drafting / design service to the various service groups within the InterMoor organisation
• Provide assistance in the areas of TMS and QHSE
• Provide coaching, guide and push other less experienced department members forward, in order to achieve a higher amount of skill sets
• Continually develop knowledge, skills and expertise of geodetics and co-ordinate systems
• Act as stand-in for the Drawing Office Manager when required
• Taking the lead role on company projects work scopes, providing CAD, first pass engineering calculations and technical support as part of a specific project or rig move activity
• Provide onsite support where called upon, UK and further afield

Requirements

• Min 5 years Design experience within the Oil and Gas sector or Renewables offshore market
• HNC / HND Engineering Qualification
• Experience with designs related to rig moving or subsea charting designs
• Proficient in undertaking first pass structural calculation checks to confirm suitability, strength etc. of designs prior to Engineer checks
• Supervisory Experience
• High knowledge level of CAD, Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 2D and MicroStation Packages
• High Importance - candidate has to have strong experience of 3D design drawings
• Knowledgeable of geodetics and co-ordinate systems (advantageous but not critical)
• Experience in managing multiple work scopes simultaneously
• Independent and focused with the ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised
• Be able to think creatively and strategically and to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally
• Commitment to HSE and in particular safety and assurance
• Ensure that work is conducted in compliance with Company Policies and Quality Management System
