Senior Design Manager / Engineering Manager - Rail, Civil Engineering

Job DescriptionLeading Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor with an enviable reputation for innovation and forward thinking is looking to employ a Senior Design Manager / Engineering Manager who will be involved in a high profile rail / LUL civil engineering scheme in Central London.The appropriate candidate will currently either be a Senior Design Manager looking for opportunity to progress and broaden their role or an Engineering Manager looking for career growth, development and further advancement.The role will involve the management of engineering and design matters relating to the project, valued at around £150m, helping to ensure that all technical issues and multi-disciplinary teams work in harmony toensure that the project is delivered on time within all technical specifications and criteria and on budget. They will have autonomy and input into the tendering process, give input into the selection of specialist subcontractors, consultants and associated external parties.The individual will provide strategic direction during design development and construction, they will agree relevant engineering processes and deliverables for each project, enabling the right solution to be provided. They will lead technical input throughout project lifecycle to design, planning and methodology, assurance, delivery and handover. They will manage design reviews, provide approval for construction methodologies, maintain regular contact and develop effective working relationships with designers, the supply chain, the client and other stakeholders to progressively ensure safe working practices, efficient design and commercially effective project delivery within required quality and time constraints. The suitable candidate may also hold CEM accreditation but this is not crucial, previous rail experience is essential and expertise in major LUL related projects and schemes would be advantageous. The role will allow the successful individual to progress and fulfil their potential with an organisation that promotes on individual merit and ability.Remuneration consists of salary £80,000 to £95,000 dependent upon experience plus car / allowance plus benefits
