You will be a key member of the design team leading design projects developing a new range of products. This is an exciting role as part of the new product team, you will ensure products meet technical, regulatory and safety requirements while making them easy on the eye and aesthetically pleasing. As Senior Design Engineer you will have a background in product development and the ability to work on your own projects.The job role and responsibilities:As Senior Design Engineer you will have the following duties within your role:
* Lead design of mechanical products for the marine industry
* Help train and mentor junior members of the team
* Continuously improve design processes
* Ensure products meet technical, safety and regulatory requirements
* Collaborate with US OEMs
* Liaise with other departments such as quality to resolve QA issuesThe requirements:To be suitable for the role of Senior Design Engineer you will ideally have the following experience and skillset:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar related subject
* Ideally you will have 5 years experience in mechanical design especially within product development
* Experience in the marine industry would be ideal or a passion for the industry
* Knowledge using CAD software ideally Creo though training would be given
* Manufacturing experience ideally some knowledge of injection mouldingThe package:The successful candidate for the role of Senior Design Engineer will receive the following:
