Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit a Senior Engineer (Design) to work on our Suffolk Highways contract in Ipswich.
As a Senior Engineer (Design) you will be a leader within our highway design team who are responsible for producing design solutions to maintain and improve highway infrastructure in Suffolk.
Milestone Infrastructure has been awarded Suffolk’s new highways services contract, which will begin on 1 October 2023 and run for up to 20 years. The contract will deliver highways projects and improvements across Suffolk in addition to highway maintenance activities.
As the Senior Engineer (Design) your duties & responsibilities will be:
Senior lead on the co-ordination of design deliverables to achieve project outcomes
Responsible for technical design checks
Responsible for delivery of projects to agreed time, cost & quality expectations
Resource planning and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary teams, including sub-consultants
Ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and processes
Ensuring legal compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
Staff and people management including training and development, staff performance reviews and performance management
Working collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives/deliverables
Managing, building and developing customer relationships
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Chartered Engineer or a highly experienced Engineer working towards C Eng (min 10 years relevant experience required)
Evidence of leading multi-disciplinary projects to achieve customer’s programme, cost and quality expectations
Extensive design & construction experience in highways including review of design software outputs
Experience of commercial awareness in project delivery
Extensive experience of Local Authority design standards & contracts
Evidence of developing and mentoring staff
Experience of design resource planning and programme management
Evidence of managing H&S in design and construction
Computer literate particularly with packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience of the NEC suite of contract documents and contract administration
UK/EEC driving licence
