Senior Design Engineer

Job Description
The Senior Designer Engineers will have overall responsibility for creating designs for new electrical infrastructure projects within the business unit. They must ensure that all designs meet client requirements, eliminate as much risk as possible (both environmental and safety) and that any remaining risks are clearly communicated to the Project Manager responsible for the works.
Responsibilities:
Implement the strategy, policies, processes, procedures and risk management for company-wide deployment within the Technical team
Lead Design Engineers and Graduate Engineers within the technical team and be accountable for scheme design, consultancy / feasibility studies, technical standards, regulatory affairs and associated legal processes
Develop and maintain best relationships with clients, asset owners, partners and designers
Actively seek improvements within the team in reducing timescales between contract award and scheme handover
Assist with Business Development to secure new and repeat business via new and existing client relationships
Ensure the company is compliant in all aspects of accreditation schemes held
Ensure that works are designed to minimise risks during the construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning/demolition phases.
Ensure that all designs meet regulatory, statutory, client and industry requirements
Essential Training or Qualifications:
Electrical Power Engineering
Full UK Driving Licence
The Designer must have relevant experience in the UK market within the last 5 years with a DNO, IDNO or ICP.
Experience in designing OHL infrastructure / underground infrastructure / substation infrastructure in the past 5 years
