Senior Design Engineer

White Label Recruitment is partnered with an engineering and manufacturing business in Castleford that requires a Senior Design Engineer to join their team.

The role of the Senior Design Engineer will involve managing design projects from start to finish along with project management and attending customer sites.

You will act as the line manager for the other Design Engineer whilst remaining heavily involved in design.

This role would suit a Senior Design Engineer looking for their next move or a Design Engineer looking to take the step up.

Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer

• Assist in the design and development of products within the business, designing bespoke sheet metal enclosures using SolidWorks 3D.


• Assist projects right the way through from concept idea, right through to manufacture.


• Responsible for the management of one other Design Engineer.


• Produce realistic 3D visuals to communicate designs within the business and to customers.


• Produce detailed 3D models suitable for manufacturing purposes.


• Produce detailed technical drawings suitable for manufacturing purposes.


• Communicate designs with various suppliers for manufacture.


• Produce rapid prototyping through the form of 3D printing.


• Assist other areas of the business when required including prototype builds and production assembly. 

Experience required of the Senior Design Engineer

• 5 years or more experience in a Mechanical or Product Design role.


• 3D CAD experience (ideally Solidworks).


• Experience in management/leadership would be advantageous.

Package Details

• A salary of up to £40,000


• 08:30 – 17:30 Monday – Friday


• 21 days holiday + bank holidays
