Senior Design Engineer Injection Moulding - Hybrid Role: Senior Design Engineer Mechanical - Injection Moulding Location: South Birmingham / Worcestershire Job type: Permanent Salary: GBP48,000 - GBP58,000 depending on experience, 10% Bonus, excellent benefits package ARCA is partnered with a rapidly scaling, world class business seeking to expand its innovative and team-orientated engineering team. This brand-new position involves spearheading the development of innovative product platforms, overseeing the entire process from the initial brief to the culmination of engineering builds. Senior Product Design Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the team by conducting technical investigations, engaging in project planning, managing resources, and conducting feasibility assessments. This individual will take charge of steering new product development initiatives, ensuring a seamless progression from the initial brief to the completion of engineering builds. Additionally, they will assume a leadership role in projects and provide guidance, development, and mentorship to the more junior members of the team. Active involvement in design aspects includes considerations for manufacture, assembly, compliance, storage, transportation, usability, and servicing. The role requires leading design reviews and seeing through necessary actions. Occasional travel to the Far East may be necessary to fulfil these responsibilities. Skills/Experience:
Experienced in developing products through the design cycle Extensive plastic injection moulding experience Managing engineering projects involves defining individual work packages, contributing throughout the entire development cycle, maintaining day-to-day communication including presentations, achieving delivery milestones, completing Engineering Builds, and providing support for Product Plans and Manufacturing Plans Overseeing projects includes guiding products through the gate process to reach production Taking charge of prototyping and development testing occurs in our dedicated test facilities Leading cross-functional teams to address technical issues is a key responsibility, with teams dispersed across the UK, US, and Vietnam Participation in the design process spans considerations for manufacture, assembly, compliance, storage, transportation, usability, and servicing Conducting and leading design reviews while ensuring the completion of necessary actions
