To enable this, our Tech and Ops Transformation will help to ensure end-to-end ownership and clear accountabilities as well as our competitiveness as a business through our Transformation delivery teams.Building on the launch of the World’s 1st Telco Cloud Core we are growing the Technical Delivery Team to support the evolution of our Core Network and incremental business demand in areas such as 4G and 5G Data, VoLTE, VoWiFi and Messaging.This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team working on exciting new technologies providing our customers with Messaging, Policy and Charging Control solutions to support our services and enable an agile response to new Network and IT requirements.You will be accountable for design of network functions, working as part of a team and with our partners to drive the delivery against our architecture and business objectives.
Please note the primary location of this role is ReadingJob DescriptionAccountable for the Messaging and Service Layer Services, working as part of the Core Services Team and with our partners to drive the delivery against our architecture and business objectivesProvide technical guidance to the various SI teams and the supplier in governing the solution architecture and ensuring solution design meets the business outcomes.Contribute to the definition of technical requirement specifications.Ensure the delivery of the solutions conforms to the functional requirements defined.Specify the design of network functions to meet the requirements of end-to-end services and operations.Support the Programme and Project Manager in project planning, risk and issue management and the delivery of projects.Support the technical domain lead and Technical Design Authority to build and prioritise the 18-month technical and budget roadmap.Work with partners to manage the performance and capacity of the technical domain.Build and manage excellent working relationship with our partners and developing this to meet our current and future needs.Work with the supplier, SI Partner & Three internal teams to deliver programmes & projects on the existing & Telco Cloud networks and IT systems.QualificationsWill have hands on, day to day understanding and technical subject matter experience of their area.Experience of working with and influencing within teams. Will be able to demonstrate how they add value and contribute to team successes and outcomes.Ability to make decisions, problem solve, work and collaborate within teams. Can demonstrate flexibility and agility to move between role types within teams. Understands relationships within those teams and their key stakeholders.Demonstrates a keen interest and drive in self-development and learning, is open to feedback, challenges and opportunities.Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment enjoying the challenges and opportunities this brings.Ability to contribute to operational plans within their area that puts the customer experience first.Domain specific knowledge & experience:In depth understanding of 3G, 4G and 5G Core Network architectures and demonstrable experience of using these architectures to deliver Data and Voice and Messaging services.In depth knowledge and hands on experience for some of the network elements included in the domain such as : SMSC, MMSC, Steering of Roaming, OTA, PCRF, OCS, AAA, Entitlement Server, GMLC.In depth knowledge of Gx, Gy, Sy, Sd and Ro diameter interfacesIn depth knowledge of Volte, VoWiFi architecture and call flows.Understanding of Cloud technologies, including NFVi, Kubernetes and SDM, and experience of using them for hosting applicationsAn appreciation of Cloud Native technologies and using different cloud approaches for deploying Network Functions (On-Prem, Off-Prem, Hybrid, etc.)High level knowledge of IT Integrations around Messaging and Charging Gateways.Additional InformationCompetitive annual salary, a performance based annual bonus & an additional 'flexible allowance' to spend on additional benefits, topping up your pension, or to be added to your salary.Hybrid working between your home (2-3 days a week) and our brand new Reading HQ office at Green Park (2-3 days a week)28 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + 3 personal days annually, which increases with length of servicePrivate Medical Insurance, Life Assurance and Income ProtectionFree mobile phone package & unlimited sim-cardFree on-site car parkingPlus lots more including well-being and learning & development benefits!Salary range for this role start's at £40,960, and exact salary will differ by job and experienceOur people make us who we are. At Three we have a hybrid working arrangement in place as standard for office based employees, where employees work from a mix of office based location and working from their home in the UK to carry on their role.
Excluding retail, core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30.
