I have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Database Administrator to join my client and make a significant impact on the specialty insurance industry.Job Overview: As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of databases and data-driven systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable database solutions. Your expertise will drive the optimization of performance and data integrity, as well as contribute to the development of robust disaster recovery plans.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and manage database systems for the specialty insurance operations.Ensure high availability, performance, and security of databases by implementing industry best practices.Perform database tuning and optimization to maximize system efficiency and minimize downtime.Develop and enforce data management policies, procedures, and standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient database designs.Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, providing timely resolution and implementing preventive measures.Plan and execute database backup and recovery strategies to maintain data integrity and minimize data loss.Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and trends to propose innovative solutions.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.Strong expertise in database administration, including database design, performance tuning, and optimization.Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL.T-SQL is requiredExperience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database) is highly desirable.Knowledge of disaster recovery principles and experience implementing backup and recovery strategies.Familiarity with data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.Posted byPaul ParkerManaging ConsultantApply for This Role...Attach a CV (Accepted file types: pdf, doc, docx, rtf.)
