Senior Data Scientist

We're helping the UK's first 100% renewable energy provider to hire Senior Data Scientist focused on solving exciting business challenges in operations and customer service.
This role can be based at either one of the client's hubs in either Nottingham or London,
with very flexible presence in the office.
In this role, you'll manage end-to-end data science projects from problem formulation to implementation and deployment. You'll communicate effectively with stakeholders and form strong business relationships, leveraging predictive modelling, segmentation techniques and AI algorithms to unlock valuable insights.
Responsibilities
Spearhead projects with cross functional leaders
Use models like regression and propensity models, time-series, ensemble methods and neural networks
Seek out opportunities to make an impact using the latest ML methods (NLP and Gen AI)
Be the go-to authority for data products and advanced ML solutions
Translate complex data models to actionable insights
End-to-end machine learning product development, from data wrangling to model tuning and deployment
Provide insightful storytelling to stakeholders through compelling dashboards and visualisations
Lead and oversee intricate data projects
Coach and mentor more junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative, innovative, peer-review culture within the team
Requirements
Minimum 4 years’ hands-on experience as a Data Scientist
BSc or MSc in a quantitative discipline eg. Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Machine Learning
Deep expertise in Python (production-level) and SQL
Proficiency in machine learning libraries (eg. Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow) and experience with MLOps frameworks for model deployment
Exceptional communication skills, able to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders
Experience resolving operational or customer experience-related problems such as workforce management, demand forecasting, or root cause analysis
Strong visualisation skills including experience with Tableau
Familiarity with Databricks and PySpark for data manipulation and analysis
Familiarity with Git-based source control methodologies, including branching and pull requests
A self-starter, passionate about converting data into actionable insights and business value
Adaptive to fast-paced, high autonomy environments
Eager to contribute to a culture of growth and innovation

Compensation and benefits:
Base salary up to £80K + discretionary annual bonus
26 days annual leave + bank holidays
