Passion for developing and applying maths and statistics to biological problems? 15th May, 2024 (Senior) Data ScientistCambridge (Hybrid – 2 days in office)Must have right to work in the UK Founded 5 years ago this Cambridge based biotech are developing revolutionary genomic technologies that improve the lives of cancer patients through early diagnosis. They have been steadily growing and have just secured another round of funding and so are looking to continue to grow their computational team. You will be an experienced Data Scientist, with a passion for maths and statistics and their application to biological data sets. You’ll be working on the design, development and implementation of statistical methods for analysis and reporting of genomic and clinical datasets. This position will be working collaboratively with product development, wet lab scientists and operations teams. So you will need to be able to take complex scientific concepts and translate them into a language that non-technical audiences can understand.Experience needed:
PhD in Maths/Statistics/Data Science or other quantitative discipline. Post doc or Industry experience requiredExperience working with Biological dataStatistical programming experience (Python highly preferred)Experience developing statistical and machine learning methods and toolsGood communication skills (must be able to translate complex scientific concepts to non-technical audiences)
