We are looking to hire a Senior Data Scientist following significant investments being made into our products and technology - including a newly designated growth platform for Kantar.Worldpanel by Kantar is the global authority in shopper behaviour, offering continuous monitoring, advanced analytics, and tailored solutions to encourage successful decisions by leading organisations worldwide. Worldpanel turns purchase behaviour into competitive advantage across a diverse range of markets including consumer goods, retail, tech, fashion, and telecoms. The successful candidate will work autonomously on custom projects for the world’s leading FMCG brands and retailers, helping to tackle complex, tangible business problems with analytics-based solutions.The role will involve direct contact with client collaborators and ownership of project delivery end-to-end, alongside the opportunity to help develop and inspire a wider team of analysts and data scientists. With the developments being made to our technology, the Senior Data Scientist will also play a role in internally focused work, helping to blend multiple consumer panels and data types into a single, integrated solution that will keep Kantar at the forefront of the industry. Key OutcomesLead in the delivery of advanced analytics projects, consulting with client partners and solving their most critical business questions using the wealth of data at Kantar’s disposal.Support with Worldpanel’s innovation through developing new analytical techniques or approaches, as well as integrating data from a multitude of large consumer panels for our new MyWorldPanel tool.Lead in the scoping of analytics projects, taking briefs and liaising with internal and external clients.Help develop the skills and capabilities of the wider analytics team, primarily from a technical perspective, but also in other contexts such as client and project management; be a mentor.Support directors and Worldpanel’s leadership team in business development initiatives, being the expert in the room for all things analytics and data science. CapabilitiesUniversity degree or equivalent experience in a
mathematical/scientific
field, preferably with a statistics element.A Masters-level degree in a closely related field (statistics, data science, etc.) and/or professional experience in analytics and modelling.Extensive hands-on R and version control experience.Extensive experience in manipulating large datasets, performing statistical analysis, running machine learning models, and visualising results using the R ecosystem.Confidence in extracting practical insights from large data sets against a broad range of business questions.Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey complex statistical concepts to non-technical audiences.Curiosity about analysing human and consumer behaviour, or in brands and how they can grow.Proven experience managing a project workload effectively and delivering work to deadlines.Whilst not a requirement, prior experience working with panel or survey data would be considered an advantage. 25 days holidays plus your birthday off!Option of flexible hybrid workingEmployee Assistance ProgrammePrivate Medical & Dental InsuranceLife Assurance & Income ProtectionCycle to Work Scheme About KantarAt Kantar, we have an integrated way of rewarding our people based around a simple, clear, and consistent set of principles.
