Role Overview:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will contribute significantly to the development and maintenance of data infrastructure and analytics solutions, driving data-based decision-making across the organisation. Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Heads of Departments, Analysts, and Product Managers, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines and systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems.
Develop and optimize data integration, transformation, and cleansing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
Implement best practices for data engineering and contribute to the team's technical expertise.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
Strong understanding of data engineering principles, processes, and technologies.
Strong SQL skills (ideally with Azure SQL), experience working with relational databases, and programming experience in Python or Scala.
Experience with Snowflake and its tooling (Snowpark, Snowpipe, etc.).
Familiarity with Fivetran, DBT, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other modern data stack components.
Knowledge of data integration and ETL frameworks and tools.
Understanding of DataOps, data mining, and data visualization/BI tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
