FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Data Analyst for our clients within the financial services sector.We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to work for our clients ‘Design, Review and Optimise Transaction Monitoring Controls’ team, within the Transaction Monitoring (TM) Unit. The team is part of Group Financial Crime Prevention, which provides group-wide solutions to fight financial crime.Our client is a full-service bank operating in multiple different business areas such as Large Corporates & Institutions, Business Banking, Trade Finance, Markets, Asset & Wealth Management and Personal Banking. The broader TM Unit supports all these areas offering excellent career development and skill diversification opportunities.As a senior expert, you will play a valuable role to fight against financial crime, working with significant amounts of data to extract meaningful insights to develop, review, manage and optimise automated TM controls focused upon our client’s business.You’ll join a team where you can bring your talent and engagement to work in an international and dynamic environment. The position is likely to require occasional travel to our clients’ international sites.Independently driving initiatives, collaborating with the team, and influencing stakeholders to strengthen automated transaction monitoring controls.Accessing complex and distributed datasets and performing statistical analysis, simulation of existing controls and assessing the impact of specific changes.Working with the team and stakeholders to understand business requirement and developing technical design for TM Controls based on data insights.Providing suggestions for the re-design of existing TM controls.Managing the optimisation of existing TM controls through quantitative data analysis (including Above and Below the Line testing).Analysing, assessing, and documenting the effectiveness of existing automated transaction monitoring controls.Representing the organisation with high degree of professionalism in both external and internal context.Who you are:You have a business mindset, and you are eager to understand both the business and technical sides.You are passionate about data and quantitative analysis, and you can perform all kinds of numerical and statistical analysis.You are a team player with a positive attitude and want to secure everyone's success in fighting against financial crime.You are self-driven, result oriented, and able to operate under pressure in a changing environment.You are honest and dependable, willing to speak up even when it’s difficult.You are used to working with and managing diverse stakeholder with divergent needs.Technical skills:Professional level of tools such as Python, SQL, R and Excel.Academic degree in highly quantitative discipline or specialization such as Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science.Previous experience in the Financial Crime Compliance field and good understanding of anti-money
laundering/financial
crime controls.Previous experience in using optimisation algorithms and good statistical knowledge.Analytical mindset and extensive experience working in data science, analysis and simulation.Organised, structured and professional in taking initiative and work proactively under own direction.Strong writing and presentation skills.You are fluent in oral and written English.Good business orientation.It would be advantageous if you have:Very good understanding of Correspondent
Banking/Relationships
