Vertical Recruitment are working alongside a leading construction consultancy renowned for its expertise in Data Centre projects. Due to their continued growth within this sector an opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager with experience in the data centre sector to join the team.



Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully delivering megawatt data centre projects across Europe. Pre and post-contract experience is essential for this position.



As a Senior Cost Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the cost efficiency and financial success of these mega projects projects while upholding the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.





Key Responsibilities:




  • Lead and oversee pre-contract and post-contract cost management activities for data centre projects across all project stages, from inception to completion.

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation in alignment with client requirements and project objectives.

  • Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimise project costs and deliver value for clients.

  • Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost control and mitigate financial risks.

  • Manage the procurement process, including contract negotiations, bid evaluation, and subcontractor selection, to achieve optimal project outcomes.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on contractual matters, variations, claims, and dispute resolution to safeguard project interests and maintain compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Prepare accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and financial assessments for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key cost drivers, trends, and variances.



Requirements for the role:




  • Degree in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying

  • MRICS status (desirable)

  • Proficiency in measurement and cost planning, particularly in accordance with NRM2 standards

  • Experience working with contract forms such as JCT, NEC, or FIDIC

  • Data Centre experience (highly desirable)
