Salary: £70,000 - £74,000 + £7,500 London Weighting + up to 15% bonus per annum

The Senior Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for managing and pro-actively delivering NHBC's public affairs activities, and for the development and implementation of NHBC's Public Affairs Strategy. Responsible for managing a team of 3 people and developing and maintaining relationships with Politicians and Senior External Stakeholders. Support and Deputise for the Head of where needed.
This position is deputising for the Head of Corporate & External Affairs, standing in as and when required including managing a team of four members.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing
Deputise for the Head of Corporate Affairs, internally and externally at meetings, committee events, conferences etc.
Work with the Head of Corporate Affairs to agree the strategy but then lead in the planning/delivery of NHBC events.
Attending roundtables, party conference fringe events and political dinners (both at Westminster and at the devolved administrations), related duties include drafting invite lists, topic lists and briefing material such as policy background material and political biogs.
Manage the delivery of NHBC's key public affairs external programme, working with the Policy Advisers, across the UK and EU.
Represent NHBC at appropriate networking events and meetings at Westminster, EU and devolved bodies, and carve out opportunities to hold events that build the reputation of NHBC.
Represent NHBC publicly at political and policy events speaking knowledgably on panels on a range of issues.
The ideal candidate will have
Comprehensive understanding of UK political environment and political system.
Comprehensive understanding of workings of parliament in Westminster, and Scotland and Wales.
Government Affairs jobs in other companies.
Confident, outgoing, great communicator in high-pressure situations and remain calm.
Workings of British Parliament, Welsh & Scottish Assemblies.
Education and Qualifications
Desirable - Educated to degree level Law, Politics, History.
