Senior Consultant, Security Researcher - Cyber6point6 cyber practice is a fast-growing community of industry leading experts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors, along with hands-on experience in conducting in-depth security research. As a Security Researcher, you will play a crucial role in identifying, analysing, and mitigating security risks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's information assets.Job DescriptionDue to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance. This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have beenresident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.As an employer we believe in facilitating a flexible work pattern whilst taking into consideration operational requirements, client and individual needs. We welcome applicants with different perspectives, skills, life experiences and backgrounds, and are proud to have an organisational culture where employees can bring their authentic selves to work.Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:· Research and Development:o Stay proactive in researching emerging technologies and trends in cybersecurityo Contribute to the development of innovative security solutions to enhance client organisation's security posture· Security Assessments:o Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on applications, systems, and networkso Document and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, along with recommended remediation measureso Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques· Vulnerability Research:o Conduct in-depth analysis of software, hardware, and network vulnerabilitieso Collaborate with development teams to provide recommendations for mitigating vulnerabilities in client systems· Security Tool Development:o Develop and maintain security tools to aid in the identification and mitigation of security risksQualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.· Proven experience in security research, vulnerability analysis, and threat intelligence· Strong understanding of common attack vectors, exploits, and malware· Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash· Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools and frameworks· Knowledge of network protocols, systems, and applications security· Familiarity with security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP)· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal· Certifications such as CSTM, CTM, OSCP are a plusPersonal Attributes:· Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team· Continuous learner with a passion for staying ahead in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creativelyAs a technology consultancy, we look for people who can deliver both exceptional technical solutions and work as true partners to the organisations we support.
