Senior Consultant - Bridge Engineering

The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Structural/Bridge Engineer to take the lead in developing business to win profitable schemes in the UK & International Bridges (Aged and New Civil Infrastructure) sector.

Our client is a world leader in the development of innovative asset monitoring solutions to enhance the safety and performance of various assets, operating across the Rail, Highways, Marine, Oil & Gas Industries and Civil Engineering Sectors. This includes both physical equipment, and the utilisation of state-of-the-art digital technologies.

If successful, you candidate will be joining a highly collaborative 100 strong team, that are working at the forefront of asset monitoring technology and innovation.

You will be playing a pivotal part in driving forward the growth of this business unit, with a target of around 10% year on year, and will have the opportunity to work with a wide and diverse client base, both nationally, and internationally.

So, what will you be doing?
This will be a Consultative/Technical Sales role, that will utilise your background and expertise to provide expert advice regarding asset monitoring & instrumentation, for a wide variety of Bridges and Structures.  You do not need previous experience in Asset Monitoring, but this role does require a solid understanding of its part to play in Asset Management.

This role will effectively be a mixture of Reactive and pro-active selling. The reactive selling will be responding to inbound enquiries, and consulting on the best technical solution for their requirements. The pro-active selling will involve going out into the market and demonstrating your products & service offerings to current and prospective clients, including preparing and delivering presentations.
Equally as important will be your ability to gain an understanding of their pipeline of works, and keeping an eye on what projects are on the horizon for them. This may help create new and bespoke products to suit their needs.

Salary/Package:


  • £40,000-£65,000 Per annum, dependent on experience.
  • 23 days holiday per year + bank holidays, increasing to 25 days after 2 years’ service.

Working Practices:

Location: England  
Hybrid/Remote working - around 1 day a week in the office once fully imbedded.
What do they need from you?


  • Extensive experience in Bridge Engineering/Asset Management, and an understanding of the role that asset monitoring plays within it. (Essential)
  • You must be able to understand / convey complex technical information to people at all levels within a business, including those from a non-technical background, so some form of demonstrable stakeholder/client management experience is essential.
  • You must be Chartered/Incorporated Engineer OR working towards it.
