Our ways of working: At Pod Point, we're all about flexibility, innovation, and community. We support various ways of working, including predominantly remote, office-based, or a mix of both worlds. We highly value in-person interactions and we encourage teams to gather regularly at least once a quarter. Due to this, the successful applicant should be in or within a reasonably commutable distance to London, so you can really get plugged in to the Pod Point experience.
Join the EVolution:
Your main gig? Managing 50+ Aurora Clusters, optimizing data storage and overseeing computing infrastructure with 150+ Lambdas and 100+ Fargate Services for scalability and streamlined monitoring. You'll handle 100 Terraform workspaces, supporting software teams to enhance platform understanding and improve visibility, security, scalability and reliability. Equipped with tools from Control Tower to CloudWatch, you’ll automate processes with EventBridge, Step Functions and more to elevate our systems.
You'll collaborate closely with a Tech Lead, experienced Cloud Platform Engineers, Agile Delivery Manager and Software Engineering Manager – all dedicated to fostering engineering excellence and guiding your career growth.You will be part of the team responsible for:
Creating and maintaining modules for the configuration of our AWS services - of which we use many, from Aurora RDS to Elasticsearch, from containers with ECS Fargate to Serverless with Lambdas, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS - to name a few
Designing, building, and maintaining the Cloud Platform for our software products
Advise and support our development teams on their day-to-day tasks
Maintenance and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines and other automation processes, in GitHub Actions and AWS Code Pipeline.
Working to the latest quality & security standards, and following appropriate best practices
Facilitating upskilling, by mentoring and coaching colleagues, sharing know how and promoting best practices
Contributing to the definition of tasks, considering business goals, teams skill sets, and the community best practices
Identifying improvement opportunities and build a story, justifying their value based on business goals and other requirements
Electrify us with your skills: The role would be best suited to somebody who:
Has excellent familiarity with AWS and certification at least Associate level.
Loves writing and maintaining IaC configuration and modules (Terraform).
Follows the latest DevOps principles and best practices.
Capable of designing scalable and resilient systems and reviewing existing ones
Understands data structures and data warehousing
Experienced in identifying security concerns and providing alternative solutions.
Proficient in scripting for the Cloud, CI/CD, and automation tools (YAML, Python, Java/TypeScript, etc.)
Experienced with containerization.
Experienced with serverless architecture.
Enjoys working in a team, including code reviews, pair and mob programming exercises and providing constructive feedback.
Takes a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, considering best practices and business goals
Applies software engineering best practices and processes, from architecture to planning and development
Familiar with SDLC and agile methodologies
GCP experience and certification is desirable.
We use AWS Cloud and (to a limited degree) GCP - experience with the following services is desirable: Control Tower, AWS IAM and STS, Amazon VPC, Aurora RDS, ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, WAF, Step Functions, Event Bridge.
