Senior Claims Adjuster - Marine Liability

The Role:
Avencia are partnered with a leading London Market insurer who are looking for a Marine Liability Claims Adjuster to join their team in London. The claims team works collaboratively alongside the underwriting function in order to facilitate close communication and exchange of ideas. The opportunity:
You will handle a broad range of claims emanating from the Marine Liability and Transport Logistics Underwriting Division.
What you'll be doing:
Claims management from first notification of loss to final settlement including coverage analysis
Work with the underwriters to develop business by participating in client meetings, presenting on topics of interest and attending conferences.
Review claims movements and advise the business with regard to potential exposures
Take responsibility for data gathering and sharing industry or event knowledge with relevant colleagues
Ensure great loss outcomes and reserve accuracy through direct intervention on large loss events where required, and identification of loss trends which may impact ranking, reserves or risk selection
Contribute to the preparation of local claims reports and claims updates to the Board as required
Be prepared to participate in wider claims strategic initiatives or committees within the organisation
What we are looking for:
Background and knowledge in Marine Liability is required
You will have achieved ACII accreditation, or be working towards it
Able to communicate effectively at all levels of seniority
Excellent client service and commitment to go the extra mile
Robust negotiation and diplomacy skills
A high degree of problem-solving capability
