Senior Civil Design Engineer (Contractor)

Our in-house Design team is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join us on a permanent basis owing to continued success in project awards. You will take on a leading role in all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design right through to implementation. You will ensure compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus on the quality of delivery.
As part of a multi-discipline project team, some of your key duties include:
Undertake design development activities.
Consider all project design development activities including multi-disciplinary interface reviews, ensuring compliance with Client specifications and current regulatory standards.
Be responsible for developing design deliverables, the initiation of procurement of any goods or services as necessary to allow the design to progress, preparing scope estimates/quotations and completing contract works information documents, as required.
Ensure that project design checking, validation and approval procedures are followed including any Client technical governance requirements.
Maintain all project registers including document and review record, Engineering Queries, Change and Risk Management.
Liaise with other Senior Engineer’s, Senior Technical Manager and Project Manager when addressing issues arising that might impact on the project scope or programme.
Respond to engineering queries raised during the project construction stage.
Undertake planning and implantation of project.
Prepare and monitor design program.
Support the Head of Discipline to provide regular progress updates including design hours to completion.
Provide support to the Project Managers, Project Engineers and other design team members.
Mentor graduate engineers
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge of British and European design standards.
Proven track record as an Engineer in both a design office and in construction.
Ability to work alone or supervise a team.
Full clean driving licence.
