We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Category Manager to join our busy procurement team which is going from strength to strength. We are rapidly transforming and executing a new strategy and operating model under a new leader. This is a critical role where you'll be responsible for commercial leadership of professional services, HR, facilities, BPO and operations supply categories. Securing exceptional commercial outcomes with Tier 1 suppliers and overseeing the Vendor Management Framework are further responsibilities. You’ll act as a Business Partner to Directors and Contract Owners, providing advice and guidance for Procurement and supplier-related matters. In addition, you’ll support the Procurement Transformation programme. This role will suit a Procurement professional comfortable working at pace, ready to drive change and be part of a dynamic, strengthening team. Sound good? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire or Kings Cross, London. Hybrid working applies with 3 days in the office minimumand these days can be split between the two offices.
Where do you fit in?
Reporting to theDirector of Strategic Procurement, your role will be to negotiate exceptional supply contracts, to maximise value. This includes working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure business needs are secured from our contractual engagements. You'll support our Professional Services function by delivering discrete elements of Procurement Transformation, with a relentless drive for process simplification. You’ll drive contract completion, taking a proportionate approach to managing risk and liaising with Legal, Data Privacy, Infosec and Finance to assure strong contracts. Additionally, you’ll play a key part in training other team members as and when necessary to aid in their development. Are you somebody ready to impress and progress? What do you need to succeed?
Previous experience in a similar procurement contracts role.
Deliver at pace, with good prioritisation across multiple projects. A bias for action.
Ability to provide expert Procurement across a range of categories.
Sound expertise across commercial negotiations, contract review and drafting.
Exceptional commercial and financial acumen, with a solid understanding of how to create value from supply agreements.
A strong understanding of contract law principles and sound commercial acumen.
