Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Duration: PermanentLocation: ManchesterJob Ref:202404About the role Benefact Group, are looking for a Senior Casualty Portfolio Underwriterto join ourManchesteroffice.This is avaried and interesting opportunityworking in the Casualty Account team to help facilitate our market leading growth and profit ambitions, which will enable the group to deliver its ambition to become the UK’s biggest corporate donor.Supporting our trading teams and liaising with our internal partners the successful candidate will have the opportunity to access, influence and simplify every part of the Casualty business throughout the UK.

Act as a technical referral point for the Line of Business and cascade technical expertise to the regions and other business units Recommend timely changes to underwriting appetite, underwriting guides, pricing, and wordings Proactively research and keep up to date with market developments and provide appropriate recommendations for action Supported by the Portfolio analysis team, undertake analysis work to improve understanding of Account performance, monitoring and managing our key growth and profit drivers Pro-actively identify areas of opportunity or risk and issue and make appropriate recommendations in line with our to the Accounts Director and wider business Develop and deliver training material and guidance for U/W Academy and for wider business Work in partnership with Pricing to deliver pricing reviews Support UKGI business units in developing and enhancing relationships with brokers, customers, and business partners to act as a specialist, demonstrating Ecclesiastical’s line of business knowledge and expertise Work with reserving and finance to contribute to reserving practices and financial reporting for the account Ensure U/W quality is in line with U/W strategy through building relationships, development and coaching of U/W staff, timely and appropriate quality control checks Knowledge, skills and experience
Strong underwriting technical knowledge Commercial or Direct insurance experience Track record of finding practical solutions to problems Portfolio management experience or interest in or aptitude for the same Experience of influencing senior stakeholders within underwriting and wider business areas ACII Qualified or commitment to achieve Practical experience of the ability to quickly implement new initiatives Microsoft office Proficient with the willingness to understand and utilise new emerging technologies Project Management Experience would be beneficial but not essential What we offer
