We require a confident, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our small team as
Senior Buyer . You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring PCB’s/PCBA’s, optics, cabling, and packaging, to ensure that the businesses operational needs are met, considering price, quality, quantity, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply.
This position belongs to the Technologies Division Europe & Asia and reports to the Purchasing Manager based in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities
The
Senior Buyer
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Identifying and negotiating with suppliers for material demands from the ERP system to support production schedule and projects.
Maintaining and updating the 365 MS system to ensure accuracy on pricing, lead times and supplier details.
To be a problem solver, managing and mitigating supply chain risk.
Liaise and work with internal stakeholders at the Farnborough site – Sales, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production to ensure company targets are met.
Deliver on-going cost savings for the business through negotiation, and by building / maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Follow procurement best practices by monitoring and challenging suppliers OTIF, price increases, and reject rate regularly (providing reporting when necessary).
Undertake line management responsibilities and reporting when the Purchasing Manager is out of office.
Manage a specific supplier base, including developing new strategies and the ongoing maintenance/improvement of terms.
Work at pace, reacting to the needs of the business effectively.
Develop and present new ideas to the Purchasing Manager to improve procurement processes and efficiencies.
To be the point of contact for the department as and when required in the Managers absence.
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a
Senior Buyer
are:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Electronics Buying role (PCBA Manufacturer).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Buying role.
Strong Negotiation skills.
Multiple supplier management and relationship experience.
Intermediate skills in MS Excel and databases, preferably office 365.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Team Player.
Ability to assess priorities and work on own initiative.
Ability to work under pressure.
Highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Results focused and committed to achieving deadlines.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (including PCB layout data).
