Senior Buyer

My client is looking for a Senior Buyer for immediate start, the vacancy will go permanent for the right candidate.The role will include:To primarily be responsible for the buying for sites of varying complexity ensuring, Site Foremen queries and requisitions are processed promptly and efficientlyScheduling of materials from drawings to raise purchase orders for Site Foremen to call off, accurately and efficiently to maintain schedules and within budgetProducing material cost analysis to ensure competitive prices and budgets are maintained to add to the profitability for the regionKeep abreast with latest products and new legislation so that we may maintain company standardsEnsuring orders are raised in accordance with Procurement Procedures so that the business maintains consistency and qualityUtilise the COINS system and assist the Quantity Surveyor to set up new sites and establish budgets, allowing management to predict site profitabilityLiaison with other departments on time to ensure sites run efficiently (Accounts)Ensure that the buying team are allocated tasks, where quality of work will need to be verified to maintain it is completed to a good standard within company guidelinesGiven proven experience the role will involve mentoring and training junior members of the team and developing their skills to a sufficient level where they can take on more responsibility and add value to the team, thus improving productivity within the regionOn occasion provide assistance to the Commercial Director/Operations Director when making key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expertWhat experience, qualifications and skills are we looking for?A confident and numerate professional who has previous Buyer experienceBe self-motivated, asks questions, wants to learn and has a good work ethicMust be adaptable, have a strong and consistent management style with the site teams and supply chainMust be proficient in ExcelPrevious COINS experience is a distinct advantageFull Driving licence is essentialMonday to Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 hour lunchRate of pay £21 – £23 per hour dependant on experience
