We are EATON! What you’ll do:The Senior Buyer will support and work directly with Procurement Manager in their team and cover when the manager is absent. This position purchases assigned commodities to ensure we meet the quality, delivery and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost. Sources new suppliers, negotiates prices/terms and conditions, assesses supplier performance, requests corrective action when required and expedites material orders to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.Job Responsibilities:Balances current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
Ensure schedules align with the demand plan.Minimizes any cost increase by working with the Commodity Management team to adhere to standard costs.Expedites supplier material, where required, to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements, including expediting, de-expediting or cancellations as required.Coordinates with Accounts Payable on billing and/or credit issuesAssists in the decision-making process for the disposal of surplus material.Works closely with Quality to coordinate the return, rework, or exchange of defective materials.Support and deliver cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives.Analyses data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal delivery of supplier materials.Supports operational tier reviews with cells.Required to work within the export compliance regulations.Will be required to provide training/support to new or more junior members of the department.Support long term agreement negotiations with commodity manager.Ensure Health and Safety best practices are adhered to.Project Management - carry out the full end to end sourcing & supplier selection process. Work with SDE and QA team to support Supplier Risk Assessments, Capacity Studies, analyse quotations and costs breakdowns, follow the APQP process, Gate Reviews, Lessons LearnedIdentify and Initiate savings projects. Deliver cost reduction in line with agreed targets.Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships internally and externally to support the delivery of the Procurement’s objectives, ensuring colleagues throughout the organisation buy into and adhere to strategic sourcing.Working internally with colleagues throughout the organization up to Senior Management and Corporate level and externally with a range of suppliers internationally up to Managing Director LevelNegotiating with suppliers and build strong relationships to effectively manage the strategic sourcing/buying process and associated controls.Deliver appropriate supplier agreements for all goods and services for given areas of responsibility to meet external spend targets, cost reduction targets and service & performance levels.Ensure the delivery performance of a range of suppliers ensuring that supplier's performance is monitored, and corrective action is taken with suppliers not meeting the performance targets.Ensure the quality performance of a range of suppliers ensuring that product is supplied fit for purpose and is supplied in line with the company's requirements.Ensure that all procurement activity conforms to best practice and Company ethics, principles, and processes.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and min. 5+ years of experience in procurementSkills:Advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Outlook, MS Teams, PowerPoint, Power Bi and/or SQL would be beneficial.Working knowledge of ERP or MRP software as well as the understanding of its principlesGood understanding of manufacturing processes (ideally injection moulding, electronic/PCB assemblies, machining, stamping) with the ability to read drawings.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAble to lead and displaying good coaching and stakeholder management skills.Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects while maintaining excellent level of service to internal customers.Excellent commercial awarenessGood problem-solving skills (e.g. 8-D or A3, RCCA)Intrinsically motivated, dynamic, customer-centric, self-starterExcellent relationship builder (internally and externally)Data driven decision maker with experience in data analysis and extraction of data.Experienced in working in a matrix organisation in a larger scale business.Experience within Aerospace or Automotive beneficial but not essentialCIPS Qualification advantageous, but not essentialProficient in reading and writing English.What We Offer YouCompetitive compensation and benefits packageChallenging projects in dynamic collaborative teamWe make your aspirations matter – Eaton encourages internal promotion, whenever possibleWe make your growth matter - We invest in our employees for the long term – not just with salary and benefits, but with ongoing learning and development opportunities made available through Eaton UniversityWe make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people’s lives and the environment through power management technologies.We make your wellbeing matter – We put your health and safety first.
