Then read on!What's on Offer?Base salary of £35,000Employee assistance programme offering a range of benefits such as free prescriptions and dental fees)Working hours Mon to Thurs 8am to 4:45pm and Fri 8am to 12:15What will you be doing?You'll be supporting the Purchasing Manager in the delivery of both strategic and operational purchasing activity across the business, covering both direct and indirect areas of spend, totaling around £8m - core commodities include raw materials (such as steel, aluminium and stainless steel), machined parts and fabrics. You will be providing purchasing support and expertise to a wide range of internal stakeholders, advising on best practice and promoting adherence to purchasing policy and the utilisation of approved suppliers. You'll led on contract/price negotiations to maximise value for money and manage supplier relationships to create a positive, mutually beneficial balance - most of these suppliers are UK based so you'll be expected to get out and meet with them in person to further the relationships. As the business continues to grow, you'll help develop and drive the strategy to evolve from a predominantly transactional, reactive purchasing function to a forward thinking, strategic procurement operation.Who will you be doing it for?You'll be joining a successful SME manufacturing business that has grown significantly over recent years both organically and through acquisition. They support ongoing personal development through recognised industry qualifications such as CIPS, as well as coaching and mentoring internally.What do you need to bring to the table?To be successful in this role it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:Previous experience in a purchasing role, ideally within a manufacturing environment, that incorporates supplier identification, selection, negotiation and relationship managementStrong commercial awareness and able to evidence previous savings deliveryIntermediate
