Job Title: Engineering Senior Buyer

Location: Onsite (4 days a week), Hybrid

Salary: Up to �50,000

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded Engineering Senior Buyer to join our team in a hybrid working environment. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing process and procedure changes to drive efficiency and effectiveness within our procurement operations. This role is not just about day-to-day purchasing activities; it's about shaping the future of our procurement function in an engineering context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives tailored to engineering needs to optimise processes and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and improved supplier performance specific to engineering projects through process enhancements
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand specialise procurement requirements and ensure alignment with organisational goals
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by evaluating current practices, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing best practices within an engineering context
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team to foster professional growth and development in engineering procurement
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and external suppliers to facilitate effective communication and resolution of engineering-specific procurement issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Proven experience in strategic procurement roles within an engineering context, with a focus on process improvement and change management
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate engineering requirements into actionable procurement strategies
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, particularly in engineering and technical fields
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with a demonstrated understanding of engineering procurement needs
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in engineering procurement
