Senior Buyer - Suspension

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of one of our offices near Warwick or Bicester where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What's the opportunity
Reporting to the strategic sourcing manager, you will be responsible for delivering the strategic direction and the commercial management of suspension systems commodity.
What you will do:
Responsible for end-to-end
commodity management, from concept, development & sourcing, through to
operational supply performance management and runout/exit strategies
Developing & executing purchasing strategies on Suspension systems against business objectives and growth plans
Delivering and leading
contract management via effective negotiation and supplier performance
management
Be responsible for
commodity level cost ownership, risk management, developing cost
opportunities and reporting new risk’s while creating mitigative measure
ideas
Maintaining supplier
relationship management with incumbent supply partners while developing
new potential supplier relationships, by influencing stakeholders and
supporting escalation to drive optimal resolutions.
Who you are:
Significant procurement experience in
direct procurement in a manufacturing/production-based environment,
ideally within automotive or aerospace, but not essential
Experienced negotiator with a proven
track record of end-to-end supply base management (strategy, sourcing,
delivery, cost and management)
Strong influencing skills with experience
of creating and maintaining networks across all levels of the business
Understand and analyse key cost drivers
in manufacturing and supply chain management, with proven record of
optimising costs which deliver value to the business
Ability to develop and implement
multi-system strategies to optimise cost, rationalise supply base,
minimise risk and deliver increased value in technical
attributes/performance
