This leading retailer is looking for a Senior Buyer to look after the produce category: Its a fantastic opportunity for someone to propel their buying career and experience working on a high profile category. As a Buying Manager you’ll be helping to secure exciting products at the best price. You will be responsible for driving the buying strategy to ensure the growth in both sales & profitability while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued development in the buying department.
The role
Build & maintain long lasting relationships with suppliers
Hight autonomy to manage your category
Negotiate with a broad spectrum of suppliers
Analyse sales figures to plan successful future lines with the buying team
Constant competitor and price analysis
Working cross functionally to ensure high quality levels
Manage a small team
The person
Proven experience as Buyer / Buying Manager from Produce, Veg, Vegetables, Fruit, Exotics, Salad
Previous line management experience
Manage workload with good levels of attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise / influence effectively at all levels
