Senior Business Development Manager

Salary Range: £60,000 - £ 80,000 per annum depending on relevant experience.

About the Role
You will be joining the Business Development team to develop and expand our sales and marketing business strategies, domestically and globally, with our specific focus on the Middle East and Asia Pacific markets. As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion of our business using your skills and experience to identify, win and maintain new business. The successful candidate will confidently participate in networking events, conferences and trade shows both domestically and internationally to build relationships, generate leads and promote our operationally proven capabilities.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement a sales strategy, targeting new customer growth and business opportunities. This will include execution and delivery of strategic and tactical sales capture plans and adopting recognized best practice.
Develop and write compelling proposals, bids, and tenders that effectively highlight the unique value proposition of our UAV products and services. This will involve proposal formatting, pricing and acceptability from a schedule/resource perspective.
Drive the sales process by cultivating relationships with key decision-makers, understanding customer requirements, and presenting customised solutions to meet their needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, project management and operations to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to business development initiatives.
Create a network of stakeholders, and key decision-makers to drive demand and awareness of Callen-Lenz’s products and services.
Build and maintain excellent working relationships that are focused on partnerships with new and existing customers.
Monitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to refine strategies and identify areas for improvement.
Establishing or improving customer relationships through an intimate understanding of your customers' expectations, problems, constraints and dependencies.
Travel when necessary to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support business development activities.
About You
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
A valid driving license is also essential for this role.
Skills and competencies
Essential
Sales experience with demonstrated history of success.
Experience of successfully selling in the defense/military and tech sectors, with a strong track record of negotiation and closing opportunities.
Adept at influencing customer stakeholders in the buying process including users, influencer and budget decision makers.
Ability to establish clear value propositions through excellent communications skills, written and verbal and supported by company/product presentations and material.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
Advanced in MS Office
Desirable
Understanding of defense market dynamics and how Government, Tier 1 and other SMEs operate in this market.
Some understanding of writing bids/proposals and aspects of UK and European grant funding.
Experience of contracts with large companies would be a bonus.
Personal Attributes
Eligible to work in the UK and obtain Security Clearance – 5 years continuous residence in the UK.
Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK
Ability to commit to occasional international travel.
