ROLEClimate Impact Partners is a leading provider of high-quality climate solutions, dedicated to creating a more sustainable world. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Client Solutions team, focusing on expanding our market-based environmental solutions in the EU. As a Business Development Manager with Climate Impact Partners, you will play a crucial role in driving climate action by building strong partnerships with EU-based and internationalclients and promoting our sustainable solutions.In this client-facing role you will be directly responsible for the development of the revenue and margin in the region, taking the lead in identifying, developing and supporting new business leveraging our products and value-add services.To be successful in this role, you will have a deep understanding of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) including corporate Net Zero and will hold experience selling carbon credits and/or GHG reporting services to the private sector in addition to having experience of Project Development with different carbon removal technologies. The role requires the development and negotiation of proposals for new business, including evaluating and responding to RFPs and ensuring renewals are successfully managed. RESPONSIBILITIES1. Business Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate market-specific strategies aimed at attracting and securing clients. Identify and pursue opportunities within diverse industries for market-based environmental solutions. Consult with prospects, many of whom may have limited understanding of market-based instruments, to devise strategies, programs, and portfolios aligned with sustainability goals. Work closely with project sourcing, technical, commercial, and legal teams to deliver customized climate solutions. 2. Client Development: Strengthen relationships with existing clients interested in enhancing their climate action efforts. Act as a trusted strategic advisor to clients in the EU region, providing guidance on sustainable strategies and programs. Consult with clients to develop impactful strategies, programs, and portfolios. Retain and expand relationships with existing clients. Oversee the successful management and development of clients in the EU region. 3. Market Research:Stay updated on the latest trends and opportunities in environmental markets to deliver impactful climate solutions.Specific Tasks Include: Develop comprehensive sales strategies and go-to-market propositions. Create detailed plans for the effective delivery of solutions. Achieve revenue and margin targets. Prepare and deliver a costed annual plan for the development of the region, including key accounts. Recruit and develop a client services team, ensuring a consistently high standard of service. Provide accurate financial forecasts and maintain an updated Salesforce pipeline with weekly sales meetings. Demonstrate proven account planning and administration skills, including managing administrative paperwork, reviewing contractual/legal terms, and handling status reports, contact reports, and invoicing. Proactively develop ideas and proposals to drive clients' business forward, drawing on the wider team as required. CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Relevant commercial and sales experience, including familiarity with carbon and/or renewable energy markets and corporate sustainability. Sustained success in a client-facing role in a B2B environment. Ability to work in the Carbon Market and think strategically about client relationships. Experience in developing a thorough understanding of client objectives and creating long-term value for both the client and the business. Strong sales and process management skills, backed by disciplined time management, organizational ability, attention to detail, and business administration skills. Proven ability to build and maintain networks with decision-makers. Experience in managing complex projects and client relationships, utilizing CRM software such as Salesforce. Proficiency in solving complex problems, making challenging decisions, and communicating technical products/services to non-technical audiences. Adaptability in fast-paced, high-growth technical environments. Strong commercial acumen, problem-solving skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Quick thinking and persuasive communication skills. Capacity to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and maintain meticulous attention to detail, timely reporting, and record-keeping. Poise and professionalism in engaging with business leaders. Interest in corporate sustainability and the private sector's role in addressing climate change. Pragmatic, with a focus on integrity and ethical practices. Strong work ethic, high energy, flexibility, and a sense of humour. Ability to coordinate marketing and communications for the region. Consultative and collaborative approach with strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Commercially and impact-minded with a perpetual commitment to learning about critical sustainability issues. Candidates with proficiency in two or three European languages, including fluency in English, are preferred.
