Job Summary:
As the Senior Business Development Executive within our Inward Investment team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of sector-focused development, particularly in the Advanced Manufacturing and low-carbon sectors. Working closely with the Head of Inward Investment, you will contribute to executing our international business development strategy, leveraging the momentum to attract investment to the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategic Programme Support:
Collaborate with sector teams to manage relevant inward investment programs and support FDI projects.
Lead client-facing roles in inward investment projects, managing a portfolio of SME projects.
Maintain relationships with regional assets and centers of excellence in target sectors.
Host and lead client visits, connecting them with appropriate resources and support networks.
Support procurement activities for sector-focused business development initiatives.
Operational Excellence:
Provide operational support to ensure efficient delivery of inward investment strategies.
Manage key processes including property searches, pipeline tracking, and reporting.
Utilize CRM systems to accurately record and report on team activities.
Representing the Organization:
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including public sector representatives, private sector businesses, universities, and regional assets.
Collaborate with partner organizations to support lead generation activities and enhance the region's profile.
Represent the organization professionally at events and seek speaking opportunities.
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to lead work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Growth mindset with excellent organizational abilities.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
Interest in the Low Carbon and Advanced Manufacturing sectors.
Knowledge and Experience:
2-3 years of experience in sales, partnerships, marketing, or related roles.
Understanding of the West Midlands region's geography.
Experience in the Low Carbon or Advanced Manufacturing sectors (desirable).
Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Zoho (desirable).
