If you have experience leading projects and are looking to advance your career in Building Surveying, this could be the perfect position for you.You’ll support our continuing growth in the North East and North West of England, with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including Technical Due Diligence and Forensic Surveying commissions, across different sectors. Our team works in a hybrid style, this being a mix of site working, home working and office working from our Manchester or North Tyneside office bases.Joining a diverse multi-disciplinary team, you’ll work with colleagues who have different levels of experience and qualifications. You’ll get access to individual training plans and help to focus on your continual personal development, including working towards any relevant specialist qualifications.Job title:Senior Building SurveyorJob Description:What you’ll be doing:Lead and develop detailed briefs in collaboration with the client and senior colleaguesEstablish and maintain positive client relationshipsSupport business development activities by senior colleaguesCarry out site surveys (including measured surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis)Undertake design and specification work and assist with preparing tender informationAssist with administering building contractsWork on all aspects of professional surveying (including condition surveys, specific defect analysis, party wall matters, dilapidations, access audits and FRAs)Liaise with clients, contractors and other consultants (internal and external)Assist the team leader with project finances, recruitment, mentoring and team leadership.What we are looking for:BSc in Building Surveying or equivalentMRICS or MCIOB, or similar is preferredHave several years’ experience of advising on commercial properties either in a Building Surveying or Building Control environmentA good communicator and relationship builderSelf-motivated and able to work with minimum supervisionAbility to prioritise and work to deadlinesGood AutoCAD skills and ability to work with new software and platforms to improve efficiencyFull UK Driving LicenceAbility to demonstrate flexible approach to work and willingness to travel/stay away from home for periods as may be required.About Government ServicesFor more than 30 years Capita has been working across the public and private sectors, solving the complex challenges of our clients, increasing productivity, enhancing their use of technology and data, improving customer and public services and adding value to the UK and local economies.Capita is committed to the local government sector and is the market leader in the delivery of Planning Resilience Services to Local Authority clients.
