Building Services & Facilities Management, Civil & Structural EngineeringWe have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant - Senior Level Building Surveyor to join their established Commercial Building Surveying team.The core responsibilities will largely relate to project and professional work with the opportunity to assist on Technical Due Diligence commissions also. The workload will be varied and include a mixture of technical advisory and project work with flexibility to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant.The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying including, Condition Surveys and Contract Administration / Project Management, Dilapidations and Party Wall Matters.The job will involve a mixed and varied workload with often the need to balance a number of different instructions simultaneously.The candidate will largely be focused on service delivery, often working as part of a larger commission team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients. The candidate should be confident in dealing direct with the client.The candidate will be required to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensuring time expended aligns with the cost forecast to ensure profitability of instructions, (financial performance responsibility).Overview of Role:The role includes predominantly Project Management/Contract Admin, Asset Management, Dilapidations and occasionally Party Wall services across a range of building types although largely commercial.The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability with an opportunity to develop managerial as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing specialist team.Your Day-to-Day:To manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service delivery improvement initiatives. To demonstrate organic revenue growth and implementation of the business plan in terms of the commercial building surveying offeringTo manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions including Technical Due Diligence, dilapidations, condition surveys and infrequently party wall work.To effectively communicate ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects.To liaise with the Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control resulting in a cost effective service.To represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.To ensure the Sector Director has quantified information on the progress of each contract on a regular basisTo support with mentoring and supervising our junior building surveyorsWhat You have to Offer:A clear thinking person demonstrating attention to detail who is well organised and can operate independently under a broad direction.Excellent technical ability.A team player who can develop and maintain excellent relationships and gain the confidence of other professionals both within the Company and outside.A broad thinker who can take a global view and has an inherent ability to deliver successfully. Able to manage own tasks from inception through to completion.Excellent project management skills particularly in relation to commission management. Ability to motivate team, drive quality and deliver successful outcome.Ability to manage project risk.Ability to be flexible to meet tight project deadlines.Willingness to travel. Ability to constructively (and diplomatically) critique reports by others.Ability to triage and focus on key issues during a transaction.Manage client expectations.Manage team to meet delivery deadlines.Manage quality standards to ensure high quality output. Understand the transaction process including requirements of funders.Understanding of both technical and legislative requirements Pro-active approach.Able to maintain total confidentiality at all times.Able to manage priorities. Integrity and honesty. Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Innovative and self-motivated. Commercially aware and financially astute.Good personal impact.Ability to provide good concise commercial adviceProvision of concise and commercial advice to our clients.Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients forming a strong working relationship in true partnershipDevelop strong working relationships with clientsProvide guidance to junior team membersIf you would like to know more about the role and have a confidential discussion call John Bray on 02380 982 040 or Email ##### Access Talent Group is currently working with one of the countries most established design consultancies who are seeking to expand their Structural Engineering department in Bristol.
